Our El Salvador bean is a highly regarded variety called Red Bourbon from the Santa Ana region of western El Salvador.
Produced by the highly revered Fernando Lima on his Finca Serbia family-owned farm, the coffee is almost entirely shade-grown under other trees, to allow for slower coffee cherry development out of direct sunlight.
This particular coffee expresses bold, rich wine characteristics, with some subtle undertones of nuttiness, and a chocolate finish.
We've lightly roasted it to emphasise this flavour and balance acidity.
Due to its relatively weak intensity, this coffee is best drunk black from filter or Aeropress brewing methods. Top tip: Leave to cool to allow the wine-like acidity to really shine through!
Obviously this is my own opinion but I’ve tried quite a few of the different roasts and found this to be the best to my taste so much so that I ordered a kilo bag this time
Lovely flavour and not too strong. I will definitely buy this again! Great in a French press
Usually prefer a more robust coffee but this is easy drinking with a hint of chocolate. Didn't get any wine notes but brewed in a Moka pot which might have affected it.
My favourite coffee
I'm loving the other Dvine beans, but couldn't get on with this. May well be my palette but I found this quite bitter in my V60
