Right, bear with me here, because this is going to sound pretentious - but I promise you I'm a normal person who doesn't usually say this sort of thing. Keep that in mind because it's important...all my self-worth is hinging on you not thinking I'm "one of them". But this stuff is so delicious, it really is. I've been drinking coffee for ages and I'm one of those who thinks it all tastes the same, unless you're talking about bargain basement stuff which is about 25p per kilo and tastes like it came out of the bin. I've never understood those people who talk about how coffee has distinct flavours and elements of chocolate, fruit, unicorn tears, fried eggs - whatever.
And yet...
...and yet I went to York a couple of months ago and stumbled across the only coffee shop that wasn't a massive chain nor rammed to the hilt with laptop-wielding hipsters. Ordered a coffee, sat down and took a sip. And honest to goodness, no word of a lie, insert appropriate exclamation here, I could TASTE stuff. Like, actual flavours and tastes and, whilst I refuse to admit it aloud for fear of having to surrender my Working Class Card, NOTES.
The most enjoyable coffee I have ever had and I was taken with it enough to Google it to see if I could buy it online. Hurrah and huzzah, I could! So I did! And then about a week or so later, I ordered more because it's so gosh darned delicious. Delivery is fast, coffee is fresh, and the price is so refreshing in this current financial climate (read: I'm poor). Have bought some as a Christmas gift for the son-in-law (major coffee snob) and I'm even throwing caution the wind and getting a decent coffee maker to really enjoy this stuff.
Long review is long, I know, but if you can't tell already, I love this coffee. Forget big-chain stuff or absurdly expensive brands - you cannot go wrong with this and both your wallet and tastebuds will thank you for it.
If they could talk, obviously.
