Spotlight on the all-rounder... Fortuna
Welcome to our Spotlight series, where we are taking the time to introduce you to our coffee, roasted in small batches in Yorkshire to ensure ultimate freshness and a truly unique drinking experience. Today, we are kicking off with our most popular blend and one we believe is a true allrounder; Fortuna.
Now, take a moment to imagine you are a new coffee drinker. Or maybe you don’t have to, and you are reading this as someone trying to navigate the world of coffee. Either way, while at Divine Coffee Roasters we love the complexity of coffee roasting, for a newbie, it can be quite overwhelming.
With beans hailing from all over the globe, all with distinct flavours, the decision between a single origin coffee or a blend and the different types of roast (dark for a more intense flavour, light for less so), it can feel like you don’t know where to begin!
But don’t let this put you off; coffee not only tastes delicious and gives you bundles of energy, but is it also incredibly beneficial to your health, reducing the risk of developing diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, cancer and Parkinson’s. So we’ve made it easy at Divine by creating a strong allrounder coffee, which acts as the perfect introduction brew; Fortuna.
Fortuna is a strong and bold coffee, which really packs a punch in terms of providing a burst of get-up-and go; a necessity as these colder, darker mornings begin to draw in. Fortuna is a blend which means it features beans from different origins; in this case, from Vietnam, El Salvador, Brazil and Ethiopia. Each of these beans has its unique flavour; Ethiopian are fruity, Vietnamese are bitter, Brazilian are nutty and El Salvadorian bring a winey richness to the blend. But don’t fret, even with these different flavours, Fortuna is perfectly balanced. That’s down to the fact we pre-mix our origin beans before roasting, resulting in a truly easy-drinking coffee.
Fortuna is such a solid blend, that it works well regardless of which method you choose to make your morning cup. While some prefer to use an Aeropress for a smoother finish or an electric grinding machine for the freshest tasting coffee possible, when it comes to Fortuna, it doesn’t matter how you brew or serve it, it will always be delicious! Perfect for a coffee newbie!
Fortuna was the first coffee we created here at Divine, so we have a bit of a soft spot for it; shhh, don’t tell the others. Its name means ‘luck’ in Portuguese, and as our most popular coffee online and in our shop on Micklegate, York, we believe it has lived up to its title.
